Thus ends the third week and sprint of our first project. This means that we’re nearing the end, and the pressure is starting to build up.
This week, our programmers have managed to implement the base for our menu’s, the Dash mechanic, the environmental hazards, the win-state gameloop as well as adding the UI. All in all, the programmers have made a lot of progress in these three weeks, and continue to impress. Though I suspect the bill with how many goats they’re owed will be quite long by the end.
Our artists have managed to finish the second map, UI art, rigging the first two characters, Animations for one of our characters and modeling for our last two characters this week. The artists have been working hard and have really made some great progress towards our final product. They were supposed to finish the animations for the Jester as well, but they will have time to finish it next week.
Us designers have recorded and edited sound-effects as well as test the game a whole lot. There isn’t really much else that we’ve done, as our work has mostly depended on the others finishing so we can playtest and tweak with the variables.
We have also done some playtesting as a group today and we noticed a bug with the win-state that didn’t show up when me and another desiger playtested it earlier. The bug revolved around multiple people winning, which was hard for only two people to spot. But that bug will be left for next week.
As a whole, this week has been very productive and we’re getting really close to a fully functioning game! With only two weeks left, we will hopefully manage to have a polished game by the end of this project.
